Barware

Many barware glasses were designed with a purpose in mind. The Champagne Flute is one of these,  its long narrow sides are designed to keep the bubbles in the glass and the champagne from warming too quickly.  Or the Brandy Snifter, its inward curving bowl is designed to hold in the aroma of the liquor which is warmed by the hands as the glass is held.  While the type of glass used can be important for some drinks, for most cocktails it is fun to experiment with the different types and styles.  Whether it’s Lemonade in a mason jar or a Pina Colada in a coconut shell, the glassware can add significantly to the look and feel that you want to create for your gathering.

Desserts can also be served in barware giving them a unique twist on even the most common desserts. Lime sherbert in a margarita glass or tiramisu layered into a brandy snifter could never look common.
